Όλο φεύγαμε,
σε κοιλιές χορτασμένων εντόμων
κρυφά
εραστές στιλβωμένοι
σα τα έντερα της πυγολαμπίδας.
Μακριά από αυτή την καστανή πόλη
σε ιδρωμένα μελαχροινά προάστια,
ανήλιαγα υπόγεια
σε πατάρια, ανοικειοθελώς
αποκομμένοι από ό,τι μας νεκρώνει
στα γκρίζα νωπά πεζοδρόμια.
Φωτιά στο λαρύγγι
φιλί δε δρόσισε
το λιγοστό μας σάλιο,
άλλος κρατούσε τη λόγχη
κι άλλος το στεφάνι
με τ’αγκάθια,
καρδιά δε κρατούσε κανείς
κι έτσι τα σκυλιά
έμειναν νηστικά.
