1η ερμηνεία:
Κώτσος, ο ρήγας ο τρανός, λεβέντης και ντερβίσης,
καμάρι της Ανατολής και βδέλυγμα της Δύσης,
σκεφθείς ότι, μετ’ ου πολύ, μέλλει να μπει στην Πόλη,
(έτσι, τουλάχιστον, δηλούν οι χασικλήδες όλοι…)
κι ιδών την Πόλην Κών/πολιν να γράφουν τας `ειδήσεις',
και προσπαθών και εις αυτό ν’ αρμονισθεί επίσης,
θέλησε συντομότερα να γράφεται κι εκείνος,
και τ’ όνομά του συνταμών, καλείται τώρα: Κ/τίνος…
