The Moon and the Earth

Τι πιστεύετε οτι λέει η τελευταία στροφή;

Upon a storm in the sandglass of Time
A son of Zeus met a daughter of Eve
A verse of love found a heartbeat to rhyme
And joined in one so divine so naive

When both had bent to the will of their passion
They were deceived that the moment would last
But as our fate never grants us compassion
Nor did it then in the depths of the past

The court of Gods felt by feelings insulted
But thought it just an emotion to kill
So though they vowed to be dead than be parted
Parted they were against soul against will.

For holy crimes each was bound in a prison
Two perfect spheres which were cast into space
But since their heart never knew other reason
They ended up near a sun face to face

Pure desire has since kept them together
Till time has worn both their boundaries away
And roam the universe they shall like a feather
In a light breeze of a wonderful day

(So don’t inquire why your desire sees no answer
Such is the fate of love portrayed on prison walls
And if your dreams you find you can’t master
Know that this road is walked alone by him who falls. )
