Πάνινο καπελάκι
φοράει τ’ αγόρι
και βελουδένια τόκα
μανούλα
φοράει η κόρη
μάνα μανούλα.
Της Ρώμης το γεφύρι
περνάν και πάνε
του Πάπα το παλάτι
μανούλα
ποιο τάχα να `ναι
μάνα μανούλα.
Σαν άβγαλτα πουλάκια
γεμάτα φόβο
κοιτάζουνε τον Πάπα
μανούλα
στον άγιο θρόνο
μάνα μανούλα.
Πείτε μου πως σας λένε
ρωτάει ο Πάπας.
Μένα με λένε Πέτρο
μανούλα
και μένα Άννα
μάνα μανούλα.
Τα χρόνια σας ποια είναι
ξαναρωτάει.
Εκείνη δεκαπέντε
μανούλα
κι αυτός δεκάξι
μάνα μανούλα.
Και τότε ρωτάει ο Πάπας
που γεννηθήκαν.
Εγώ στην Αντεκέρα
μανούλα
κι εγώ στην Κάμπρα
μάνα μανούλα.
Τότε ρωτάει ο Πάπας
αν αμαρτήσαν.
Ένα φιλάκι μόνο
μανούλα
του λέει το αγόρι
μάνα μανούλα.
Αναστενάζει ο Πάπας
και λέει γελώντας
αχ, τέτοιες αμαρτίες
μανούλα
να είχαμε όλοι
μάνα μανούλα.
Χαρούμενα οι καμπάνες
χτυπάν στη Ρώμη
τα δυο τα ξαδερφάκια
μανούλα
παντρεύει ο Πάπας
μάνα μανούλα.

porque son primos.
Sombrerito de hule
lleva el mozuelo,
y la pelegrinita,
de terciopelo.
Al pasar por el puente
de la Victoria,
tropezó la madrina,
cayó la novia.
Han llegado a Palacio ,
y suben arriba,
y en la sala del Papa
los dexaminan.
Le ha preguntado el Papa
cómo se llaman.
El le dice que Pedro
y ella que Ana.
Le ha preguntado el Papa
que qué edad tienen .
Ella dice que quince
y él diecisiete.
Le ha preguntado el Papa
de dónde eran.
Ella dice de Cabra
y él de Antequera.
Le ha preguntado el Papa
que si han pecado.
El le dice que un beso
que le había dado.
Y la pelegrinita,
que es vergonzosa,
se le ha puesto la cara
como una rosa.
Y ha respondido el Papa
desde su cuarto:
¡Quién fuera pelegrino
para otro tanto!
Las campanas de Roma
ya repicaron
porque los pelegrinos
ya se han casado

The spanish version gathers only the narrative of the poem, La Argentinita exclaims very often "niña bonita" (beautiful girl) or niña (girl) as use to do gipsies singing. These exclamations have been rendered in greek as "manoula" and have been incorporated to the text as independent verses; therefore the greek version seems much longer than the spanish original, but basically is not. |  Avellinou © 04-12-2016 @ 11:32 |
