| | | | It is difficult to properly translate the word found in the last line of the first verse, "αυτόχειρας." It literally means "auto-hand," i.e. "one who does something by his own hand," and is a Greek word for "suicide" (noun). In the lyric, the word's use carries the added irony that suicide is already, by definition, "self-made." That is the word for which I've settled.
In the first line of the second verse, the narrator states he is "spitting" on the wishes. However, I felt that the lyricist's true intent here was not so much the act of spitting per se, but the significance of the action. In other words, the narrator is damning the wishes. This is a very poignant use of opposities, i.e. to curse/to wish.
