| | | | Muş and Van are cities in modern day eastern Turkey. Ani is an ancient city in Turkey, now deserted, near the border with Armenia. The lyricist seems to mention these cities in connection with the events that took place there during the Armenian Genocide (in particular, Van), as well as symbolically to allude to past historical grievances between Armenia and Turkey (the 1064 siege of Ani).
