Ήθελα να μάθω πώς περνάς,
σε παρακολούθησα ένα βράδυ.
Σε είδα κάποιον άλλον να φιλάς
κι έχασε η καρδούλα μου τ’ αλφάδι.
Ήρθα στο τραπέζι σου μπροστά,
σου απλώσα και τυπικά το χέρι.
Ήτανε το βλέμμα σου φωτιά,
ήτανε τα λόγια σου μαχαίρι.
Βγήκα απ’ το μαγαζί σκυφτός,
σε κοιτούσα ώρες απ’ το τζάμι.
Ένιωθα σαν ζωντανός νεκρός,
πλοίο που δεν έχει πια λιμάνι.
Μέσα γέλια και αγάπη,
έξω πόνος και βροχή,
κι εγώ πνίγηκα στο δάκρυ
έξω από ένα μαγαζί.
Ένα τζάμι ανάμεσά μας
να το σπάσω να κοπώ,
αφού δύναμη δε βρήκα
να σου πω πως σ’ αγαπώ.
Πόνεσα και ένιωσα ντροπή,
ήπια στάλα στάλα το φαρμάκι.
Έλεγα θα βγεις για μια στιγμή,
μα εσύ μου γύρισες την πλάτη.
Έφτανε ως το κόκαλο η βροχή,
με είχε γονατίσει ο εφιάλτης,
και κοιτούσανε οι περαστικοί
άλλο ένα ερείπιο αγάπης.
Μέσα γέλια και αγάπη,
έξω πόνος και βροχή,
κι εγώ πνίγηκα στο δάκρυ
έξω από ένα μαγαζί.

I wanted to know how you were doing,
so I followed you one evening.
I saw you kiss someone else,
and my heart sank.
I walked up to your table
and as always I held out my hand to you.
There was fire in your eyes
and your words cut like knives.
I walked out of the bar with my head hung low,
I stared at you through the window pane.
I felt like the living dead,
a boat lost at sea without anywhere to dock.
There was laughter and love inside
and outside there was pain and rainfall,
so I drowned in my tears
outside a bar.
The window pane was between us
and to break it would cut me like you have.
I couldn't find the strength
to tell you that I love you.
I was in pain and felt shameful.
I drank your poison drop by drop.
I thought you'd come out to talk for a moment
but you turned your back to me.
The rain drenched me to the bone,
this nightmare had brought me to my knees
and the people passing by were staring at me.
Another relationship in ruins.
