04-12-2016 18:55 | If i am not mistaken the only thing written by F. G. Lorca alike to this song were four verses that appear in his work for puppet theater Tragicomedia de don Cristobalón y la señá Rosita. And this verses were probably not his own but a part of a folk song. They say:
Mi amante siempre se baña My lover always baths
en el río Guadalquivir, in the Guadalquivir river
mi amante borda pañuelos My lover embroiders scarfs (or handkerchiefs)
con la seda carmesí. with crimson silk.
Given that the english version is very true to the greek, the greek translator of Lorca's verses displays very great imagination power. He or she rather than translating Lorca creates a completly new poem (and a very nice one indeed!).
