We all have a happy place inside our heads.
Even though we might live oblivious to its existence,
we all go to it.
We go there to relax,
to calm down
we go to pray,
we go when our skies are grey,
we go to it every single day.
I recently discovered my happy place.
I searched my mind, and found it without much trouble.
It was here all along. It was home.
And in it,
I saw you,
I saw me.
In my happy place,
I saw the two of us,
alone in our home.
We hugged, and I whispered “I love you” in your ear.
The words bounced off the old walls,
they faded into the infinity of space,
they faded like water ripples,
they faded again and again…

I never get bored of saying it.
And in my happy place,
I saw you squeezing me tight,
I saw you touching my soul,
like I touched yours.
That’s why they call it the happy place.
Its where I’m invincible,
unarguably untouchable.
But in the real world,
when I touch your soul, you hit mine.
You never hug me,
For god’s sake you barely even talk to me.
Some things, however, never change, not even in the real world.
