lament for Hypatia,
as the clouds are low,
the rivers flow,
in Alexandria.

Peter is the name of Hell,
Peter is the name of Hell
and before her eyes,
a god who lies,
orders the crowd to kill.

The sun stands right in the middle,
the sun stands right in the middle
and the stars below,
they blink and glow,
in circular orbits.

Shall she never love sea-shells,
shall she never love sea-shells,
so adored and wise,
Hypatia dies,
in Alexandria.
