Στις δανεικές τις προσευχές
δε πιάνουν τόπο οι ευχές
ένα σου γίνονται οι φωνές
και συνηθίζεις με το χθες
τις δανεικές τις προσευχές
μάθε να μη λες.
Στις δανεικές τις προσευχές
πονάς για άλλων τις πληγές
κι αν οι ανάσες οι παλιές
τώρα σου ακούγονται κραυγές
στις δικές σου προσευχές
ζήτα ότι θες.
Στις δανεικές τις προσευχές
κουμάντο κάνουν οι ενοχές
και στων αγγέλων τις γιορτές
οι κλεμμένες οι στιγμές
πάντα θα μοιάζουν με ευχές
ψέμα όπως θες. Στις δανεικές τις προσευχές
πρέπει για όλα εσύ να φταις
κάποιοι σου λέγαν πως σ’ αυτές
ξεπλένονται οι ψυχές
με τις δικές τους προσευχές
γέρασες και κλαις.

ask for anything you want.

And in angels' congregations
the stolen moments

a lie, if you wish. In the borrowed prayers
everything must be your fault
some used to tell you that in them
the souls are washed
with their prayers
you've grown old and cry.
