Είκοσι χρόνια στο μπερντέ κρυφά παραμονεύω
και πίσω απ’ τον Αλέξανδρο το φίδι αγριεύω
Αλέκο μη χαρίζεσαι καθάρισε το χτήνος
θέλει δουλειά κι υπομονή μου απαντά εκείνος
Κι εγώ που δεν κατάλαβα ενάμιση αιώνα
πώς έχω γίνει θεατής σ’ ένα φτιαχτόν αγώνα
Το φίδι κι ο Αλέξανδρος τα κάνανε πλακάκια
κι όλος ο θίασος σκιών βαράει παλαμάκια
Τελείωσε η παράσταση και σβήσανε τα φώτα
κι αν θέλεις λεπτομέρειες τον εαυτό σου ρώτα
Αλέκο μη χαρίζεσαι καθάρισε το χτήνος
θέλει δουλειά κι υπομονή μου απαντά εκείνος
Twenty years, behind the curtain, hidden, I wait,
and behind Alexander,I get mad at the snake.
