Κοντά στου Νείλου τα νερά
την καρτερούσε με χαρά και χτυποκάρδια
να της χαϊδέψει τα μαλλιά
να τη γιομίσει με φιλιά με χίλια χάδια
Και το φεγγάρι τ’ αργυρό
τους έβλεπε μες στο νερό φιλιά ν’ αλλάζουν
Και με τη βάρκα των χαδιών
στη χώρα των παραμυθιών κρυφά ν’ αράζουν
Κι όταν προς το ξημέρωμα χωρίζανε
έλεγε αυτός στα μάτια που δακρύζανε
Φεριχά, στα μετάξια θα σε ντύσω
και παλάτια θα σου χτίσω
να το θέλεις μοναχά

μπρος τα πόδια σου τ’ αφήνω
