Γονάτισα και ζήτησα απ’ τα θλιμμένα σύννεφα
να λάμψουν, να ξεσπάσουν με βροχές,
κι όλη τη νύχτα γίναμε σκυλάκια και ξεδίναμε
και γλείφαμε ο ένας τ’ άλλου τις πληγές
Μεθούσαμε και πίναμε απ’ τα φιλιά που δίναμε
και σβήναν μία μία οι φωτιές,
και το πρωί ξυπνήσαμε απ’ όνειρο που ζήσαμε
έτσι γλυκά όπως ξυπνούν οι εραστές
Σηκώθηκα και ήσυχα στα δέντρα προσευχήθηκα
ν’ αντέχουμε στις πιο βαθιές χαρές,
κι όλη τη νύχτα αφρίζαμε, ποτάμια που γυρίζαμε
ψηλά στις αρχικές μας τις πηγές
Ανάβαμε και σβήναμε και πάλι ξαναρχίζαμε
και γίναν μια των δυο μας οι καρδιές,
και το πρωί ξυπνήσαμε απ’ όνειρο που ζήσαμε
έτσι γλυκά όπως ξυπνούν οι εραστές
Σηκώθηκα και ήσυχα στα δέντρα προσευχήθηκα
ν’ αντέχουμε στις πιο βαθιές χαρές,
κι όλη τη νύχτα αφρίζαμε, ποτάμια που γυρίζαμε
ψηλά στις αρχικές μας τις πηγές
