Όσοι το χάλκαιον χέρι

ενός τυράννου,
νόμιζε φρικτόν τον τάφον
Let those who, the cupreous hand of fear
feel heavy
be under slavery;
virtue and mettle
are required for freedom.
Freedom (as the myth reveals word of truth)
gave wings to Ikaros
and even if the carrier of wings,
fell and drowned
by sinking beneath the sea,
he fell from high
and died as a free man.
If you become a dishonorable fatling
of an oppressor,
consider horrible the grave.
