Ρίξ’ ένα βλέμμα σιωπηλό
στον κόσμο τον αμαρτωλό
και δες η γη πως καίει.
Και με το χέρι στην καρδιά
αν δε σ’ αγγίξει η πυρκαγιά,
ψάξε να βρεις ποιος φταίει.
Σα χαμοπούλι ταπεινό
που δεν εγνώρισ’ ουρανό
και περπατάει στο χώμα,
