Λίγα τα λεφτά, πολλή δουλειά,
κανένας φίλος.
Μα στη γειτονιά
κάθε βραδιά λεν τα παιδιά:
Έχει ο Θεός, και θα φανεί μια άσπρη μέρα,
μέρα γαλανή και γιορτινή υπομονή.
Μια στενή αυλή, κρασί πολύ
και καληνύχτα.
Δώσ’ μου ένα φιλί.
Κάποιο πουλί, άκου, λαλεί:
