Σαν τα φτερά του κύκνου ο ποιητής
ολόλευκος φτερούγισε την πλάση.
Τα πάθη και τα μίση της ζωής
δε γνώρισε γιατί είχε μόνος πλάσει,
ονειρεμένο κόσμο της στοργής
που ο πόνος κι η αγάπη είχε φωλιάσει,
κι έψαλλε μες στον κόσμο της ζωής
ό,τι ο θλιμμένος νους του είχε αγκαλιάσει.
Πήρε απ’ το δάκρυ φλόγα και δροσιά
κι εστάλαξε στον πονεμένο στίχο
σαν έβγαινε με πόθο απ’ την καρδιά.
Πήρε του κρίνου την αγνή ευωδιά
κι εσκόρπισε την αρμονία στον ήχο
ενώ η ψυχή του σπάραξε κρυφά.
