Crescent Moon

Crescent Moon, my Night’s lustrous eye
Your flame of white my secret’s spy
To you I murmur a silent yearning
My soul’s desire, and being’s churning

I blow my kiss in desperate trust
Hope to reach you in spite of wind’s gust
My willow’s branches lift and hurl
Aiming the center of your luminous pearl

We watch together its tremulous flight
Our breath we halt till it’s out of sight
Her trunk I caress with a grateful smile
We silently embrace and wait awhile

My eyes I close, his face I summon
Exploding blue, passion uncommon
I raise my thumb to touch his lips
‘If only’ I sigh, as my heart skips

The breeze picks up, my willow quivers
Winded, I pause as fervor conquers
At last, I see the lone star falling
My kiss delivered, as is my calling.
