When Lorelei plays her harp

What is this sound that makes my heart dance with the waves?
What is this melody that makes the seagulls fly around the caves?
Lorelei sits on her cold stony throne playing her wooden harp
enchanted I sail around her to listen the music within the dark.
When Lorelei plays her harp and moves the strings,
the winds obey her and the fairies dance around the green leaves.
When Lorelei plays her harp, the mermaids swimming in the river of Rhine,
come to the surface and with her drink an old red wine.
When Lorelei plays her harp, the stars shine brighter on heaven,
and the souls of man become black like the wings of a raven.
Because they all know that they cannot have Lorelei’s heart,
most of all she loves the sea and her small wooden harp.
When Lorelei plays her harp, my thoughts travel to forgotten times,
and poems I write and romantic rhymes.
