| | | | The "από μηχανής θεός" is the "god from the machine", usually called by his latin name even in modern day: deus ex machina. When the plot of the play had reached its peak of complication and seemed impossible to solve, the god would descend on the stage, out the machine, and make everything right. Nowadays it's called "special effects" or "industrial light and magic"...
