Να ήμασταν βαγόνια σ’ άλλο τρένο
να μη σε δω ποτέ ξανά μπροστά μου
να μέτραγα σωστά τα βήματα μου
να πέρναγες ξυστά και να μην τρέμω
Άμα έμπαινε έτσι απλά μια τελεία
όλα θα `χανε σωθεί
Να έφευγα για πάντα στο Παρίσι
να μην έπεφτα πάνω σου τυχαία
να μην ήσουν η μόνη προκυμαία
που θέλω το ταξίδι μου να κλείσει
Μια κλασσική, τυπική, άκακη τελεία
Σαν αλλαγή, σαν σιωπή, σαν αυτοκτονία
Ίδιο το τρένο, ίδια η πορεία
είναι άλλο η πράξη κι η θεωρία
θα περνάω ξυστά δίπλα σου να τρέμεις
Τι στην Αθήνα; Τι στο Παρίσι;
Δεν αρκεί πια το πλήθος να μάς χωρίσει
και στην άκρη της γης θα με πετυχαίνεις

With which I desire to end my journey.
A common, typical, innocuous stop
Like a change, like a silence, like a suicide.
Same train, same trip
Action is different from theory.
I will be skimming over you so that you will shiver.
What about Athens? What about Paris?
The crowd is not enough to separate us anymore
You will be coming across me even in the edge of the world.
If a stop could be put so simply
Everything would have been saved.
