Τα παιδάκια που παίζουν στ’ ανοιξιάτικο δείλι
μια ιαχή μακρυσμένη
Τ’ αεράκι που λόγια με των ρόδων τα χείλη
ψιθυρίζει και μένει
Τ’ ανοιχτά παραθύρια που ανασαίνουν την ώρα,
η αδειανή κάμαρά μου
Ένα τρένο που θα `ρχεται από μια άγνωστη χώρα,
τα χαμένα όνειρά μου
Οι καμπάνες που σβήνουν, και το βράδυ που πέφτει
ολοένα στην πόλη,
στων ανθρώπων την όψη, στ’ ουρανού τον καθρέφτη,
στη ζωή μου τώρα όλη...
The kids that play in the spring’s afternoon
-a faraway yell-,
the wind that words with the lips of roses
whispers and stays,
the open windows that breathe the hour,
my empty room,
a train that it’ll come from a foreign land,
my lost dreams,
the sound of the bells that dies out, and the night that falls
continuously to the city,
to the people’s look, to the sky’s mirror,
now to my whole life…
