The dream | ||
| Two sons you had, mother dear, two trees, two rivers, two Venetian castles, two roots of mint, two yearnings. One for the East and for the West and you lonely in the middle telling , asking - telling, asking the sun «Sun, you who watch the mountains you who watch the rivers where you observe our wild passions and the poor little mothers if you see Pavlos, call! and Andreas too, tell me! With a grieving I brought them up with a sob I give birth to them» But they, they go crossing mountains crossing rivers each one looking for the other to slaughter one another And up there on the tallest mountain on the highest peak they get close, they get near and the same dream - the same dream they see They run, both of them, to their mother's deathbed They give each other their hands and close her eyes And the knives, they drive them deep into the ground and from that spot, water started flowing for you to drink, to quench - to drink, to quench your thirst. | |
